Seminario Dra. Rocío Muñoz Moreno: “From micro & macroproperties investigations to application success cases”

Abstract:

HP Metal Jet Technology will be presented with its approach of disrupting manufacturing and accelerating mass production of 3D-printed parts. Metal Jet S100 excellent balance between part quality and productivity rates will be explained from R&D investigations to application cases. This will involve a technical review of the binder jet fundamentals empowered by HP key advantage assets founded in the latex binders and printheads. In particular, powder properties, green and sintered microstructures, together with final parts performance derived from their macroproperties will be described. In addition, application success cases will be presented.

Breve biografía de la Dra. Muñoz:

Rocio Muñoz Moreno is the European Metals Materials R&D Lead for HP 3D Metal Jet, where she is focused on materials integration for productization of the metal binder jet solution and leads the external collaborations with partners and research institutions.

Rocío holds a Physics BSc & MSc from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Materials Science & Metallurgy PhD from Carlos III University and IMDEA Materials Institute in Madrid. Rocio developed part of her PhD research at Michigan State University, US. Posteriorly, Rocío worked as a research associate during her postdoc at the University of Cambridge for Rolls-Royce University Technology Center.

Rocío joined HP in 2016 as a part of the 3D MultiJet Fusion team, responsible for materials integration. In 2018 she moved to 3D Metals, where she focused on materials integration in printer to ensure best part quality by the analysis powder physical properties and printing parameters optimization. In 2021 Rocio extended her responsibilities in Metals to become the European Metal Materials R&D Lead.
